I can't tell you when I first tapped into my creative side but watching my mother sew is my earliest memory of it. As a small child, I went with her to swap meets to buy numerous yards of the brightest, prettiest fabrics where she would later spend hours at the machine making dresses for my five sisters and me. Watching and admiring her as she sewed is a memory that will never leave me.
Taking after my mother, I taught myself how to sew when I was ten years old. At age fourteen, I was a seamstress and designed, styled, and sewed for a production company that reproduced plays such as Cinderella, A West Side Story, and The King and I.
I’ve been lucky to have partnered with top agencies like Stars Management and have collaborated with Los Angeles’ Trick Shot Productions. Some of my accomplishments include being featured in Glamour Magazine, NEET Magazine, Elegant Magazine, and Lucky Magazine where I was a Community contributor.
I’m an empath (enneagram 2) with a love for all things vintage and I keep busy by writing prose and poetry.
Here, on The Cheap Edit, I’m committed to creating community, and will write about combatting fast fashion by shopping second hand. I’ll take you along my journey of uncovering the latest fashion trends and attempt to create their look for cheap.
